If you sum up all the numbers from 1 – 22 using the formula: n * (n+1) / 2 = Sum, n

22 * (22+1) / 2 = 253  = ( 1+2+3+4+......+22 )

Alef  is composed of 1,12,17, this equals to 1*12*17 = 204.

This is the same value than that of the middle column counting all the numbers downwards.  ( 12+10+13+12+5+6+....... +10+6 ) = 204

We see on the left column that the sum of all the values downwards equals to 253 as well.  ( 17+22+12+22..+14+22......+17+21+14 ) = 253
